Depart from Auckland and travel south through the heart of New Zealand’s North Island, visiting some of the region’s most iconic attractions along the way. Your journey includes a guided tour of the famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves, where thousands of glowworms illuminate ancient limestone caverns in a truly magical underground experience.

Continue onward to Rotorua, renowned for its dramatic geothermal landscapes and deep-rooted Māori cultural heritage. Explore the geothermal wonderland of Te Puia, home to steaming vents, bubbling mud pools, and traditional Māori arts and crafts. Depart Rotorua in the morning and travel north to Auckland via the iconic Hobbiton Movie Set, enjoying a magical journey through Middle-earth from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films. Upon arrival at Shire’s Rest, embark on a guided Hobbiton Movie Set Tour, where you’ll see 44 hobbit holes, the Mill and double arch bridge, and the Party Tree, and visit the famous Green Dragon Inn. Capture memorable photos at Bag End, Bilbo’s house, with sweeping views across the rolling hills of Hobbiton.

After the tour, enjoy lunch at Shire’s Rest or in the marquee beside the Green Dragon Inn, followed by time for shopping. Continue north through the lush Waikato dairy farmland and over the Bombay Hills, arriving in Auckland, where you’ll be transferred to your inner-city accommodation.

Full payment must be received at least 90 days before the tour start date.

If payment is not received by the end of business on the due date (NZST), we may need to cancel itinerary components and cannot guarantee your tour. Your booking will then be subject to our cancellation policy.

What if I book within 90 days of the tour start date?

If your reservation is made within 90 days, payment is due upon receipt of the confirmation document.

Are there situations where earlier payment is required?

Yes. Certain tour arrangements, such as guided walks or special services, may require full payment earlier. You will be advised at the time of booking if this applies.

What happens if I fail to make payment on time?

Failure to make payment by the due date may result in cancellation of your tour arrangements.

Can I pay a deposit if I am booking within 90 days of the trip to secure it?

Yes. If you are booking within 90 days of departure, we may require either full payment or a 20% deposit to secure the trip, depending on the tour arrangements.
